Toshiba Canvio is the latest offering from the Toshiba family of portable hard drives. The Canvio lineup is comprised of four units: 500GB, 640GB, 750GB, and 1TB. The latter two are branded as “Canvio Plus,” but the only variation seems to be in storage, dimensions, and price. The smaller two measure 3.1 x 4.7 x 0.53-inches and weigh 5.2oz, while the larger drives are 0.12 inches thicker and 1.1oz heavier. All of the drives use USB 2.0 for data and power and ship with a three-year warranty.
Toshiba Canvio specs are quite good and comes with anti-slip rubberized slide grip, and internal shock sensor and ramp loading technology to protect your data. The stylish case design make the Toshiba Canvio USB 2.0 portable external hard drive more than just a storage device. It has many color options such as Raven Black, Satin Silver, Liquid Blue, Rocket Red and Komodo Green.
The Canvio product line also features easy-to-use Windows based NTI BackupNow EZ software with search capabilities and simpler step-by-step restore functionality to retrieve lost files. For advanced users, the Canvio offers even more customization features, including extensive backup options, advanced restore functionalities and an ability to overwrite specific original files.
