The ASUS Eee PC 1015PX Dual-Core Atom N570 10.1-Inch Netbook is an extremely portable solution for doing basic things on the go. It is surprisingly easy to use for doing basic tasks such as browsing the web, facebook, twitter, etc. and the compact design makes it perfect for people who have little space to do their work or are always on the go.
The 10.1″ widescreen display is backlit and looks very nice, with crisp and clear images coming across the screen, very nice for such a small display. It also has an integrated Intel GMA GPU, which will do fine with basic graphics tasks, but it is definitely not a machine you would play graphic intensive games.
As with all Asus netbook the Asus 1015PX-SU17 also includes the ASUS Super Hybrid Engine (SHE), which optimizes system performance, helping to balance power consumption and performance. This allows the battery to possibly last you up to 11 hours between charges, depending on what you are doing and that is great for people on the go or people who travel.
It also includes Express Gate Cloud, which allows users to get online in an instant without the need to boot in to Windows. Finally, it has an ASUS-exclusive Eee Docking platform that serves as a convenient, one-stop solution that grants you easy access to digital content, services and other useful software.
The ergonomic chiclet keyboard and a large touchpad with palm rejection technology, making it easy to get around menus and such. The rest of the specs are pretty standard for a netbook.

Upgrading the ASUS Eee PC 1015PX Dual-Core Atom N570 10.1-Inch Netbook Memory from 1GB to 2GB
Take note of the following;
- The netbook comes with only 1 slot and it is populated by a 1GB memory module
- That means you have to remove the 1GB RAM module to insert the new 2GB RAM module
- Make sure you purchase the right memory module – a 204 pin DDR3 SODIMM notebook memory module (1066MHz)
- Installing the memory is a snap. You just need a tiny Philips screwdriver to remove one screw from back cover. Once unscrewed slide the door towards the screw and lift up gently. Pop out the old, pop in the new, replace the cover and boot it back up (Follow the steps outlined in easily self upgrade RAM)

User Reviews
Most of the users commented favorably on this netbook and as long as you do not set your expectations too high, you should find yourself liking it. Many users said that they understood what this little netbook was designed for and had no problems with it.
A few users said it was a solid machine and works well for basic tasks and web browsing. Email, working with documents, watching videos and doing social stuff like Twitter and FaceBook, are all easy to do and users have not run into any problems with these. They are also commented on the fact that it seemed to run fairly fast for a netbook this size and that was a pleasant surprise, not a lot of lag or anything that slows you down, especially when multi-tasking.
The matte screen finish was another thing commented on a lot from users, many seem to prefer this over the glossy finish. While not made for high end graphic computing, this still seems to do fairly well in displaying images and videos.
One user raved about the Wi-Fi, saying he travels a lot and spends a lot of time in hotels that have limited Wi-Fi range and that this little netbook pulls in the signal with no problems.
Battery life was a plus among users, not exactly the 11 hours ASUS claims. Depending on your settings and such, better life seemed to be around 4 to 7 hours during heavy use with most users.
Other than the battery not quite living up to its claims, another negative comment was about the netbook running mildly hot under extended and heavy use. Not enough where problems occur, but enough for it to be noticed, although one user said it was a plus on a cold night.
The only other negative comment was about the “bloatware” that came with the netbook, but once users uninstalled the unwanted software, the netbook worked great.
Overall the reviews are pretty strong and if you are looking for a “basic” netbook, one that can do basic everyday tasks, we would give this netbook our recommendation.
