Upgrading ASUS Eee PC 1001P-PU17 Memory from 1GB to 2GB
Take note of the following;
- The netbook comes with only 1 slot and it is populated by a 1GB memory module
- That means you have to remove the 1GB RAM module to insert the new 2GB RAM module

The general consensus is that the Asus Eee PC 1001P is an amazingly capable netbook. It has everything you’ll ever want in a netbook: good performance, a reasonable weight, nice screen and keyboard, slick design, and a great price. Its aesthetics also came in for with high praises too. Some claimed it was just what they had expected, “it is a sharp looking netbook.”
The only problem some folks are having with their new netbook is with the keyboard. Some people are having issues with awkward placement of the arrow keys in the lower right corner. That’s four keys crammed into a space barely large enough for three normal keys,” reported one user.
For customers who want to spend the least amount possible, there haven’t been many compelling choices. And that’s why many people are in love with the ASUS Eee PC 1001P. At $299, not only is this machine $50 to $100 less expensive than many netbooks, but it looks the part of a luxury netbook while lasting more than eight hours on a charge. Certainly, you’ll be giving up some of the features of the new ASUS Eee PC 1005PE-P, such as 802.11n wireless, but for those on a tight budget the 1001P seems an excellent alternative.
