Asus Eee PC 1005PE is the upgrade version of Asus Eee PC 1005HA which came with Windows XP. Now it comes with Windows 7 Starter edition and improved upon the original specification. The Asus Eee PC comes in two versions – The Asus Eee PC 1005PE-PU17 and the Asus Eee PC 1005PE-MU17.
The specification of both version are quite similar, with the cheaper Asus Eee PC 1005PE-MU17 coming without bluetooth. Unlike the PU17 version which is capable of 14 hours of operation with a single charge the MU17 version is capable of only 11 hours.

Notes on Upgrading ASUS Eee PC 1005PE-MU17 netbook memory from 1GB to 2GB
- The netbook comes with only 1 slot and it is populated by a 1GB memory module
- That means you have to remove the 1GB RAM module to insert the new 2GB RAM module
- Make sure you purchase the right memory module – a 200 pin DDR2 SODIMM notebook memory module (667MHz or 800MHz)
