Since the launch of Windows 7 on Oct 22 we have not heard much about it on MSI netbooks. MSI is finally releasing 2 new models with Windows 7.
Unlike other netbook manufacturers who tweaked their machines to cater for higher specification allowed by Microsoft’s licensing terms for Windows 7 starter edition, MSI has released the new MSI Wind U123-025US (Ruby Red) and MSI Wind U123-033US (Midnight Blue) with the same specification as former MSI U123 series of netbooks with Windows XP. However, it now comes with a 7800mAh 9-cell battery instead of a 6-cell battery. MSI claims this new battery has a life of 9 hours and compensates for the higher power requirements of Windows 7.
The specs of the new MSI Wind U123 at a glance;
- 1.66GHz Intel Atom N280 processor,
- 160 GB hard drive,
- 1GB of RAM,
- 10.2 inch WSVGA display.
- Optical Drive : No Optical Drive (optional external optical drive can be connected via one of the USB ports)
